petervidani: subcreation: Years ago I did a series of photographs featuring the white and grey rectangles created by business owners painting over graffiti in downtown Seattle. I thought it was a fascinating, albeit subtle, image of the conflict. There was something unsettling about the modern art it unintentionally produced. The series itself always felt like a failure to me, because I really had to explain exactly what I saw in it for anyone to understand what I was getting at. This photo (which I didn’t take) speaks much more clearly to the point.
